1st Round of the Draft starts with a 5 Positional Pick (Consist of 10 Pick’s) with each coach getting one player from each category. (Will Supply a List of the top 4 available in each category.)

Clarification of the Positional Picks:

Definition of a Designated Position:

QB, RB, WR, OL/DL & TE/LB – Designated positional picks who played the previous year predominantly at their positions on their side of the ball!  Back up Designated positional picks who predominantly was on their respective side of the ball to back up the starting positions but could not be a starter in another position on the same side of the ball!  (For Example if the player started at LB and he also played DL he would be considered a Starting LB not a Back up DL.)  No Player over weight as of draft day can be drafted as a Specialty player as set forth in the weight limitations in the YFAC League rules!

*****If you have more than two teams you will follow same format! *****

1)      Draft Order Determination

Returning Head coach from the previous year on the same age level gets first pick!  Returning Offensive or Defensive Coaches from the same age level if determined by the Football Commissioner to be experienced enough to become a Head Coach will get first pick if the previous year’s Head Coaches move up from the same age level!  In the event we have two coaches that qualify for the same age group from previous year they will have a blind draw for first pick! If there are two new coaches they will have a blind draw for first pick. Once draft pick order is determined it is final!  All coaches will need to be approved by the board!

 2)      Asst. Coach Requirement

All Head Coaches must choose an Asst. Coach before the Draft Begins.

 3)      Coaches Sons or Daughter Requirements

All Head & Asst. Coach Sons or Daughters that are playing will have to be chosen in the first round in his or her pre determined positional pick category order if they are in the correct age group by grade level rules.  If coaches take their child that is in the lower age group for example moving up from 4G to 6G if not determined to be a 1st round pick by talent they will be last pick on the board!

 4)      Family Pick Requirement

All Siblings, Cousins or Live in Situations will be accommodated on the same team based on draft position agreed on by the coaches with exception to the first 5 positional picks!  In a situation that both players are in the first 5 positional pick categories the coach drafting the family pick will have to take two draft picks consecutively if that not be the case the coach may pick one and have the second pick be last pick automatically.

 5)      Car Pooling Requirement

All car pooling request can be taken and pre determined by the board if request will be granted! In a situation that both players are in the first 5 positional pick categories the coach drafting the family pick will have to take two draft picks consecutively if that not be the case the coach may pick one and have the second pick be last pick automatically.

 6)      Draft Attendee’s

Football Commissioner, 1 Representative per Team & 2 Board Members

 7)      Trade Requirement

Trades may take place only after the draft takes place! Trade deadline will be within 5 days of the draft day!  All trades will need the approval of the Football Commissioner and also Board!

 8)      Late Registration Requirement

All players that register after the draft will be drafted according to draft order that was determined in the original draft!

 9)      Team Promise Requirement

If determined by the board that a coach promised a parent that there child would be on their team we will accommodate but the other coach would get to pick a replacement from your roster with no restrictions!  We do not recommend any coach promising to any parent a position on your team until the draft is over!

 10)   Draft Information Rule

In no circumstance will anyone on the coaching staff or committees divulge any details on the draft process to anyone!  Draft process is in place only to create an order of team process it is in no way use to determine a child’s ability to play the game!

 11)   All drafts are final upon board approval if by chance there is a child that will negatively be affected the board has the right to rectify that issue!
